Did you have any difficulty reading the Bible? I could not answer correctly to myself about the bible. Then how can we fully understand the Bible? 

In this lesson, we are going to learn the structure of the Bible and the right way to read it! 

2 Timothy 3:16 
"All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and righteousness,"


Who is the author of the Bible?

1. The Author of the Bible

1) The author of the Bible 
2 Pet 1:21 
For prophecy never had its origin in the human will, but prophets, though human, spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit. 
→ God in the spiritual world told his will and thoughts to approximately 35-40 people who spoke and wrote the Word on behalf of God. 

2) The reason God has given us the Bible 
1 Jn 4:1 
Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. 

3) Two realms in the spiritual world and the physical world 
The reason God's world was divided into two: the appearance of Satan, the angel who sinned 
God works on the true pastor and the devil uses false pastor to tempt people. 
→It is important to know the true pastor who have sent by God 


2. The Composition of the Bible

1) The Holy Bible: A book complied of the Holy Word of God 
The Old Testament: 39 books
The New Testament: 27 books 

2) The Old Testament and the New Testament 
Old Testament: old covenant (before coming of Jesus)
New Testament: new covenant (after coming of Jesus)
*Both records God's promises

3) The Bible is a covenant 
Old Testament 
Ex 19:5-6) Jews were subject of the Covenant 
Jn 5:39) the contents of the covenant was Jesus in the First Coming 
Heb 8:7) Covenant was broken 

New Testament 
Lk 22:14-20)  Christians are the subject of the Covenant 
Jn 14:1-3)  the contents of the covenant is Jesus in the Second Coming 
Rv 22:7) Covenant mus be kept 

4) The Bible index and abbreviations 
Old Testament 
1) Pentateuch 2) Historical books 3) Poems 4)Prophecies 
New Testament 
1) 4 Gospels 2) Historical books 3) Epistles 4) Prophecy 


3. Content Categorization of the Bible

1) History : past events 
1 Cor 10:11
Theses things happened to them as examples and were written down as warnings for us, on whom the culmination of the ages has come. 

2) Teaching 
2 Tim 3:16-17 
16 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, 
17 so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. 

3) Prophecy 
Jn 14:29 
I have told you now before it happens, so that when it does happen you will believe. 

4) Fulfillment: fulfilled according to prophecy 
The Old Testament - First Coming 
Jn 19:30
When he had received the drink, Jesus said, "It is finished." With that, he bowed his head and gave up his spirit. 

The New Testament - Second Coming 
Rv 21:6
He said to me: "It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To the thirsty I will give water without cost from the spring of the water of life. 


4. How the Prophecies were Written

1) Parables of historical events 
Lk 17) The last days: the days of Noah, the days of Lot 

2) Parables of people 
Rv 2) Balaam, Balak, Jezebel

3) Parables of places 
Rv 11:8) Sodom, Egypt, Golgotha
