Rv 6:5) 
When the Lamb opened the third seal, I heard the third living creature say, "Come!" I looked, and there before me was a black horse! Its rider was holding a pair of scales in this hand"

Rv 11:1-2) 
1 I was given a reed like a measuring rod and was told, "Go and measure the temple of God and the altar, and count the worshipers there. 
2 But exclude the outer court; do not measure it, because it has been given to the Gentiles. They will trample on the holy city for 42 months. 

✅What is Reality of Figurative Scale and Rod? 
➥ Scales = Word which measures faith 
    Rod = Word and person with Word 
    Iron rod (iron scepter) = ecclesiastical authority 


Explanation

1. Figurative Scale 


⁕Literal meaning of scale 
① Used to measure weight of things (instrument to judge, and standard of determining things) 
② To measure weight of things, determining them heavy or light 

 1) God's Scale 

Prv 24:12) If you say, "But we knew nothing about this," does not he who weighs the heart perceive it? Does not he who guards your life know it? Will he not repay each person according to what he has done? 

1 Sm 2:3) "Do not keep talking so proudly or let your mouth speak such arrogance, for the LORD is a God who knows, and by him deeds are weighed. 

Job 31:6) let God weigh me in honest scales and he will know that I am blameless-

✦ Court of Law 
Law → Determining if something is crime or not: judged (depending on how serious it is)

✦ God's scale → heart, faith, actions: weigh 
Law (Word of God) 

Rv 20:12)And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged according to what they had done as recorded in the books. 

2) Satan's Scale 

Prv 11:1) The LORD abhors dishonest scales, but accurate weights are his delight. 

Hos 12:7) The merchant uses dishonest scales; he loves to defraud
→ Merchants : False pastors 


2. Figurative Rod 


⁕Literal meaning of Rod
① Tool that helps, object we depend on (discern, protect and guide) 
② Symbolizes ruling power (royal authority, ruling power)

Ps 23:1 The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not be in want. 
→ God uses his staff to guide his sheep who are his people 

Jer 23:29) "Is not my word like fire," declares the LORD, "and like a hammer that breaks a rock in pieces? 

Is 11:4) but with righteousness he will judge the needy, with justice he will give decisions for the poor of the earth. He will strike the earth with the rod of his mouth; with the breath of his lips he will slay the wicked. 
→ rod: the word judges the world 

Gn 49:10) The scepter will not depart from Judah, nor the ruler's staff from between his feet, until he comes to whom it belongs and  the obedience of the nations is his. 

Prophecy (Ps 2:6-9) Zion → King (Son: Jesus) 
Fulfillment (Acts 13:33) 

Rv 2:26-27) 
26 To him who overcomes and does my will to the end, I will give authority over the nations --
27 'He will rule them with an iron scepter; he will dash them to pieces like pottery' -- just as I have received authority from my Father. 
God → Jesus → The one who overcomes 

Rv 12:5) She gave birth to a son, a male child, who will rule all the nations with an iron scepter. And her child was snatched up to God and to his throne.
