1. The Figurative Light and Darkness

 2) The True Spiritual Meaning Light and Its Importance 

Jn 1:1-5) Word = God, Life, Light, Seed 

Ps 119:105) Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path. 

Lk 8:11) "This is the meaning of the parable: The seed is the word of God. 

1 Pt 1:23) For you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, through the living and enduring word of God. 

Acts 17:29) "Therefore since we are God's offspring, we should not think that the divine being is like gold or silver or stone--an image made by man's design and skill. 

2.  The Realities of Light and Darkness at time of First Coming

 1 Jn 1:5) This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all. 

Mt 3:16) As soon as Jesus was baptized, he went up out of the water. At that moment heaven was opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and lighting on him. 

  

Jn 8:12) When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, "I am the light of the world, Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life."

Mt 5:14) "You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. 

3. The Reality of Light at Second Coming and Word of Prophecy in NT Regarding Light and Darkness

1 Thes 5:1-5)

1 Now, brothers, about times and dates we do not to write to you, 

2 for you know very well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night. 

3 While people are saying, "Peace and safety," destruction will come on them suddenly, as labor pains on a pregnant woman, and they will not escape. 

4 But you, brothers, are not in darkness so that this day should surprise you like a thief. 

5 You are all sons of the light and sons of the day. We do not belong to the night or to the darkness. 

→ Second Coming : come in the night 

Night: like thief 

Day: does not come like thief 

4. The Reality of Light and Darkness at Second Coming

Rev 10:1-2)

1 Then I saw another mighty angle coming down from heaven. He was robed in a cloud, with a rainbow above his head; his face was like the sun, and his legs were like fiery pillars.

2 He was holding a little scroll, which lay open in his hand. He planted his right foot on the sea and his left foot on the land, 

open scroll = light
