[Lesson 1] God’s Covenant: Abraham and Revelation | Gn 15 (Ex 12), Jn 19:30, Rv 21:6

Main Reference: Gen 15 (Ex 12), Jn 19:30, Rv 21:6

Key Points
- It was recorded about 3,500 years ago
- The recorder is Moses
- Abraham was a 10th of generation descendant of Noah
- Moses was a 4th generation descendant of Jacob from the tribe of Levi

At the time of the fulfillment of the prophecies of the old testament
→ God's advocate = Jesus

At the time of the fulfillment of the prophecies of the new testament
Jesus's advocate = the one overcomes

1. God who fulfills the prophecies that he promised

Isaiah 14:24) The LORD Almighty has sworn, "Surely, as I have planned, so it will be, and as I have purposed, so it will stand.

God fulfills prophecies to prove that He is alive

Gen 2~3) God had made a covenant with Adam
Adam and Eve were deceived by the serpent and broke their covenant with God
Gen 6:3) God left Adam who betrayed
Gen 9:1~17) God had made a covenant with Noah
Gen 9:24~27) Hem and Canaan deceived God's chosen people and betrayed
Gen 15) God made a covenant with Abraham

2) The covenant made with Abraham

Gen 15:13-14)
13 Then the LORD said to him, "Know for certain that your descendants will be strangers in a country not their own, and they will be enslaved and mistreated four hundred years.
14 But I will punish the nation they serve as slaves, and afterward they will come out with great possessions.

After making a covenant, God orchestrated the events to ensure that his promises are fulfilled
Prophecy and fulfillment is a believable proof that God is alive

3) Fulfillment through Moses

Ex 12:12-14)
12 "On that same night I will pass through Egypt and strike down every firstborn--both men and animals-- and I will bring judgment on all the gods of Egypt. I am the LORD.
13 The blood will be a sing for you on the houses where you are; and when I see the blood, I will pass over you. No destructive plague will tough you when I strike Egypt.
14 "This is a day you are to commemorate; for the generations to come you shall celebrate it as a festival to the LORD- a lasting ordinance.

Ex 12:40-41) The Israelites were saved through "pass-over"

4) The covenant made with physical Israel and the ten commandments

Ex 19:5-6)
5 Now if you obey me fully and keep my covenant, then out of all nations you will be my treasured possession. Although the whole earth is mine,
16 you will be for me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation. 'These are the words you are to speak to the Isrealites."

Ex 20:3) do not worship any other god except God

The worship of foreign gods by Israel's king Solomon marked their betrayal.
The creation of the new kingdom and new people born of God's seed

Jer 31:22) How long will you wander, O unfaithful daughter? The LORD will create a new thing on earth--a woman will surround a man."
Jer 31:27) "The days are coming," declares the LORD, "when I will plant the house of Israel and the house of Judah with the offspring of men and of animals.
Jer 31:31) "The time is coming," declares the LORD, "when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah.

2.  Creation of a new thing

Mt 13:30)
Let
both grow together until the harvest. At that time I will tell the harvesters; First collect the weeds and tie them in bundles to be burned; then gather the wheat and bring it into my barn.'"

Am I born of God's seed or the devil's seed?
The result of those who are harvested and not harvested is heaven and hell

3. Abraham and the Revelation
Coming out of Egypt and conquering Canaan at the time of Moses was an example of the journey to heaven

Rev 6:12-14)
12 I watched as he opened the sixth seal. There was a great earthquake. The sun turned black like sackcloth made of goat hair, the whole moon turned blood red,
13 and the stars in the sky fell to earth, as late figs drop from a fig tree when shaken by a strong wind.
14 The sky receded like a scroll, rolling up, and every mountain and island was removed from its place.

4. The new covenant and the sealed 12 tribes

The second coming passover meal is the revealed  word of the fulfillment of the New Testament Revelation

Rev 21:1-6)
1 Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea.
2 I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband.
3 And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, "Now the dwelling of God is with men, and he will live with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God.
4 He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death of mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away."
5 He who was seated on the throne said, "I am making everything new!" Then he said, "Write this down, for these words are turstworthy and true."
6 He said to me: "It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To him who is thirsty I will give to drink without cost from the spring of the water of life.
